Showcase 2027
Apply to perform
There are a few things to have handy, and a guardian to finish the form with you. Most people are done in about ten minutes.
Before you start
What you will need
1. Your eligibility
- You are in grades 9 to 12 during the 2026–27 school year.
- You study or live in Texas.
- You perform on piano. This showcase is piano only.
2. Your repertoire
- One or two pieces, up to eight minutes in total.
- From the standard piano literature: baroque, classical, romantic or jazz. We are not taking contemporary works or original compositions this year.
- Tell us the composer and title, and roughly how long it runs. An estimate is fine.
- Play something you feel good about. A simpler piece played securely is stronger here than a hard one that is not quite ready, and we mean that.
3. A video of you playing
- A phone recording is completely fine. We are listening to you, not to your camera.
- One take, without editing, so we hear the piece as you actually play it.
- Upload it to YouTube or Vimeo as unlisted and paste the link.
4. A parent or guardian to finish it with you
- Their name, email and phone. Everyone performing is under 18, so we correspond with them rather than with you directly.
What happens next
After you submit
- Nothing is reviewed until applications close on 1 December, so applying early carries no advantage.
- Two board members read every application independently, against the criteria on the Showcase page.
- Everyone hears back by mid December, selected or not, before the winter break.
- Selected students receive a consent pack for a guardian to sign, which confirms the place.
Opens October 2026
